Austin the Flyin Lion
While out in Venice California last week with my daughter, we ran into a local icon and his two legged companion. This is the story of Austin the Flyin Lion, a Pomeranian pooch and his master, Johnny Mitchell. The duo have been celebrity fixtures on the Venice beach scene for a number of years. Back in 2010, Austin went missing one day. Someone had stolen him from Johnny's home and after 2 years of looking, he had given up hope of ever seeing his lil buddy again. Check out the video below to see how the two were recently reunited.
...and yes, Austin was named after the Texas capital city.

iphone: Bloc Party & The Drums
Here's a few shots I snagged of The Drums and Bloc Party. I took these with my iphone at the sold out August 8th concert at Terminal 5 in New York City. While there is quite a bit of noise(film grain) in these photos, you have to give the iphone 4s some credit. It performs very well in these conditions. This is a phone, people! My phone did this! My iphone video from the show is HD(1080) and can be seen here. From the front row, without a photo pass? These are pretty decent results from a cell phone, if you ask me.
